DIY: vanilla coconut sugar scrub
oh.my.god. guys. i wish there was some way to capture smell via photograph so you would have some idea how good this smells. it. is. divine.
as you may already know, i'm into homemade skincare. and i love me some good exfoliants. but this. oh, this. it is the best smelling scrub i have ever come across in store, or thrown together in my kitchen. and it ridiculously easy to make.
you will need
1/2 cup (roughly) coconut oil
1 cup sugar (i used plain old white sugar, but brown or cane would be really nice too)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (i used 2 since i lovelovelove vanilla)
optional: ground cinnamon
it doesn't get simpler than this, friends:
1. combine oil, sugar and vanilla.
2. scoop into jar.
use this in the shower before your body wash. i'd recommend storing it in a cool, dry place to keep the coconut oil from melting. i'm not sure what the shelf life would be, as i tend to use scrubs up fairly quickly, but considering all the ingredients involved have long shelf lives, i'd imagine you'd be safe for several months.
how much do you like vanilla and coconut?! let me know what you think of this scrub!

Thanks for sharing! I've wanted to try a homemade scrub before but so many formulas were surprisingly complicated. I'm going to try this.
@Robin
there certainly are ways to complicate homemade skincare - but i love simpler formulas ;). hope you'll keep an eye out for the ones to come!
